Environmental Education & Technology Integration Workshop


Friends of the Kaw and the Kansas Association for Conservation and Environmental Education (KACEE) are collaborating to offer this workshop for teachers as part of an EPA Environmental Education Grant.
♦ A unique professional development experience especially for educators who want to learn technology integration techniques for their classroom with Google certified trainer, Dr. Cynthia Annett.
♦ Gain strategies, resources, and confidence to teach outdoors with hands-on activities that are fun and meaningful for students.
♦ Take home two activity guides including hundreds of hands-on activities.
♦ Discover innovative ways to integrate natural resource, conservation, and environmental education into your curriculum & programs with ease.
♦ Explore tools to help engage your students and merge their understanding with their environment and technology.
♦ Learn how your district can become a healthier place to work and learn, access grant funds, connect with your community, and receive statewide & national Green Schools recognition
What: Educator workshop includes Project Learning Tree and WET in the City
When: Thursday, June 27 and Friday, June 28, 2013, 9:00am-5:00pm both days
Where: Tomahawk Elementary School, 6301 West 78th StreetOverland ParkKS
Who: This workshop is open to K-12 Educators Cost: $20 per participant (includes 2 activity guides, lunch, drinks, snacks and 2 days of professional development)
Graduate Credit Information: Opportunity for one graduate credit hour through Baker University will be available to K-12 classroom teachers at an additional cost of $70.00. Course enrollment forms and tuition payment will be accepted on workshop day one. Attendance at all 16 workshop hours and a homework assignment are required for the credit.
