Catch the “Fish Management In Kansas” Video Online

Full-length video provides overview of how fisheries are managed so anglers catch more fish

“Good fishing doesn’t happen by itself,” is the first line in a full-length video, Fish Management In Kansas, produced by the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (KDWPT) to help anglers learn how “good fishing happens” and how our fisheries are managed. While the video was produced more than 10 years ago, the information is timeless, and even though videographer/producer, Gene Brehm has since retired, the quality of his work is ever-present.
The program mixes entertaining video of Kansas anglers catching fish with information about fish management from KDWPT fisheries experts. Viewers will learn about how individual lakes are sampled and managed, and how fish are produced at four KDWPT hatcheries.
Biologists also discuss the importance of habitat in our lakes and reservoirs and how it can be enhanced. If you want to learn more about managing sport fish for better angling, or if you simply enjoy seeing people catch fish, this video is a must-watch.
